Karen Porter

Karen Porter is Editorial Assistant at The American. She joined the magazine in August 2007 as a summa cum laude graduate of Yale University, where she studied history and international studies and was a regular contributor to the Yale Globalist. She received a Richter fellowship to study post-Communist transitions in Eastern Europe (May 2005) and Yale’s Edwin W. Small prize for her senior thesis on U.S. intervention in post-World War I Armenia. Her articles on development, international organizations, and foreign aid have appeared in The American online. She lives in Washington, D.C.
