In Politicians We Trust?

Can the top U.S. presidential candidates be trusted? According to a recent Gallup poll, opinion among Americans varies widely. Sixty-seven percent of Americans described John McCain as “honest and trustworthy,” and 63 percent of Americans described Barack Obama that way. But only 44 percent described Hillary Clinton as “honest and trustworthy." In a separate Pew poll, 65 percent of Americans, including 80 percent of Democrats, described Obama as “honest,” compared to only 48 percent of Americans (and 65 percent of Democrats) who described Clinton that way.
